What we do

Our purpose

The Hockey Umpiring Trust’s purpose is to endlessly inspire and challenge the continuous improvement of hockey umpiring, in a fun and educational way. Challenging current convention and removing barriers.

Aiming to unite the hockey community, through events and conversations – players, coaches, spectators, and umpires alike. Our objective is to offer opportunities and events to come together and simply… talk hockey!

We are disruptors

Sharing

Knowledge

By sharing knowledge and stimulating greater understanding of the game we all love, we hope to encourage diversity of thought, to inspire the improvement of umpiring.

We don’t want to be boring, so we’re throwing out the rule book (controversial?!) and current convention, to remove barriers to increase participation and access to knowledge.

Blending our passion for hockey with skills, capabilities and perspectives from wider life and work experiences - we aim to challenge the boundaries previously applied to umpiring and disrupt the mainstream methods for learning.

Share, Listen, Learn.

Join our community, unite with others, and help make umpiring better.

We’re going to do some vodcasts, podcasts and produce some resources which invite people to think differently . We hope you’ll be interested in the topics and enjoy them and, if you do, then we’ll go from there.
